Importance Of A Clean Furnace Filter

I'd like to discuss furnace filters. It is so important to keep the furnace filter clean. If you don't change the furnace filter, the efficiency of the furnace goes down, dust collects on the blower, then it goes through the heat exchanger to the A/C coil, then through your duct work. When the A/C coil gets plugged, the efficiency of your air conditioner goes down and costs you more money. It's all a vicious cycle.

The filter on the right is a new filter. The filter in the middle was changed at the proper time. The filter on the left has gone too long. Don't let this happen to you!

OK Chuck, there are many products avibalale at your local hardware store to divert your dryer exhaust back into the house. This is generally only done during the winter months, when you would want the extra heat and as an added bonus, the air is moist, helping to raise the humidity that tends to drop when using your heater. But many of these devices will also divert alot of fine lint back into the house, so you will have more dusting problems. The fact that you run a propane fired dryer should not be any concern.

WOW! I had no idea how much stuff was in our vent! My wife is thrilled we had ours cleaned. After seeing all the stuff Steve removed, she was releived we had it done when we did! Oh, and he's coming back this spring to check out our AC unit. Terrific!
